Hi All,

My name is Tomi, I’m from Melbourne, Victoria, thought it was about time I posted. Mid last year, after a few years of saving up, I was finally able to afford my dream car - a JDM S15 Silvia. Over the years I'd extensively researched the car and knew exactly what I wanted, so I decided my best option was to import an example.

The car was located in a Narita dealer after many long hours of searching by Ben from J-Spec Imports through auctions, dealers, classifieds etc.. It was in the condition I wanted, had all the options I had specified (along with a few extra's) and was reasonable in terms of price. The car arrived in Australia a few months later, and I had it complied and registered in Victoria by November '06.

Since that time I've been slowly modifying it to suit my tastes, the current modifications include:

As it stands in 2010, still a little bit more to go before I consider it finished:

So that's about it for the moment. Future mods include fiiting my Vertex Ride widebody kit, Work Meister's, updating some interior aspects and some engine work when it decides to pop :). Comments welcome.

Sat-nav and sunroof
You must been searching like crazy. Sat-nav is very rare, sun-roof is very rare. Getting both on the same car, super mega rare.

Very nice car. Looks very clean :)

Well, glad you had the patience to wait it out :)

what are your plans for it?
You should atleast consider changing the rims and lower it.

Looking at putting a Vertex Ridge (Widebody) kit on it, Works Meister S1 (Gunmetal) rims, then the usual modification path - handling, suspension, engine work etc. So I better start working for more $$$ :D

Nice car and welcome to the forum!!!

I have the SAT Nav in mine too.. but never seen it working as I can't work out what the buttons do... Plus I think that it won't do me a whole lot of good here in Moscow :( :( All I can get from it is the menu screen which isn't too exciting... if you ever work out how to make it do something useful - let me know.... :)

Hey,

I knew the sat nav wouldn't work here in Australia. I'm pretty sure you can't modify the stock system to work in different countries. That didn't worry me as I intend to install a carPC to take care of GPS, DVD, MP3 etc so I'll kill a couple of birds with one stone. I'll do a writeup on it when I do it.

Let me know when you do the write up... I will be very interested... :) :)

Does anyone know where the GPS antenna is in the car?

Will do. If you follow the wires back from the sat nav unit you'll find it eventually.
