Hi all =)

I've been lurking around these forums searching for info and admiring your love for cars, specifically S15s!!

My name is Jon and I'm from Sydney, Australia. (the land down under.. not as far as Tasmania though.. =P). I currently own and drive 2 cars (not at the same time!). One is a Honda Integra DC5 and the other, a S15R Jap-spec.

I only recently acquired the S15 and am loving every minute of when I'm in the drivers seat! Here are a few specs.. I'll look at getting some pictures when I get my new rims!

White, 2000 model, aero skirts/rear pods, foglights, 2x Buddyclub P1, 2x Volk GTC's (drift look..?? haha), some audio equipment, catback, pod etc

Looking forward to chatting with you all in the near future =)

Welcome welcome. I have two questions :

1) Can you tell me your evaluation between DC5 & S15?

2) May I know your wheel size, offset and tyre size please.

Thanks.

1) Evaluation b/w DC5 and S15

Feeling of Power: S15 > DC5
Actual Power: S15 > DC5
Cornering Ability: DC5 > S15
Safety: DC5 > S15
Ride Comfort: DC5 > S15
Looks: S15 > DC5
Fun: S15 > DC5

2) On the DC5 I have 17x7.5 on F/R. Offset is +42 and 225 tyre size

j0nbubz,

Safety: DC5 > S15 ==> More airbags in DC5?
Ride Comfort: DC5 > S15 ==> Comparing stock suspansion?

I was referring to Buddy Club P1 size & offset?

I think you'll find the DC5 is much safer than the S15 because it's FF rather than FR. You can push these VTEC babies round corners like anything and all you should get is a bit of understeer.

FF's beat FR's on corners whereas FR's (with a turbo and lots of torque) will catch FF's on long straights - especially uphill straights!

Watch some of the Best Motoring (Hot Version) Touge Battles and all will be explained... :cool:

Always loved Teg-R's :thumbs:

s15 you can push it tighter around bends... haha (oversteer)
dc5 when pushing around corners goes wider (understeer)

ray - having said that, you can carry alot more speed into corners before starting to understeer in a FF, with just thicker rear swaybar and sticky tyres

you have to be alot more cautious taking a hard corner in a FR, and I don't mean using the drift to your advantage

cool reads ray!!

Im not doubting the S15 has loads of potential in every aspect of the car!

Just noting.. from a driver's perspective - that with coilovers, similarly sticky tyres - the DC5 seems to out-handle the S15!

that saying - I much prefer a S15 over DC5... anyday =)

Welcome aboard!

Stock wise the s15 feels wobbly for some reason. Definately need mods to "sweeten" it up
