    i did exactly the same to get my elbow on too... good ol' angle grinder to make a mini spanner!

    and like said, after nippin' off a couple threads on that lower stud... the nut is a PITA to get on... once it's on, it's simple... but it's just gettin' it started!

    Don't worry too much. Its SS and could happen to any make of elbow under those conditions of heat and stress. Just like SS manis...

    where did u get the engine damper from??
    cuz i took mine off as it started to rust a little under the strut bar

    You get rust under the strut bar anyway if you don't put some form of protection round the area. Try a thin layer of high density foam under the mount.

    Mine's a genuine Vertex damper I got off Barky (brand new). I'm quite interested to see what difference it makes. I did a bit of read up on it and have changed my opinion slightly...for now. Should be fitted with decent engine mounts too, but we'll see how it goes

    There may well be a slight change to that photo again this weekend
