Just wondered if anyone had heard of people doing a conversion using a skyline diff? I went to get my 2 way taken out today and have a helical built in as it was doing my head in ,it turns out I had a nismo 2 way from a skyline in it? Thought this was a bit strange just wondered if anyone had heard of people using skyline diffs before?

I know my mate used an R32 or R33 diff casing with a S14 Nismo 2-Way as he needed to use skyline driveshafts as the silvia ones kept breaking.

Some people use skyline diffs for driffting as they want to be able to brake traction easy, as it makes the ratio shorter.

i was wondering the same actually, is a skyline diff any good?

Heavier car so diffs should be quite locking as it would need more to lock a skyline. So even if you had a viscous gtst or something it might be better locking? I could be completely wrong but was just something I was considering.

Obviously the OEM helical might be quite hard to beat on track, but for tight drifts and doughnuts the skyline viscous might be better?

I put the Nismo 1.5 TT Pro in mine and even though the stock Helical diff is good the Nismo is sooo much better for street and track. You can come on the power a lot earlier out of corners and there is no loss of traction from the inside wheel. Best bang for buck for the rear end IMO

Do the R33 shafts fit straight into the S15 hubs?

I'm about to try and fit an aftermarket R33 diff (last time we tried swapping the internals but the S15 shafts wouldn't fit into the diff gears - we kept the S15 diff casing). so this time I'm trying the R33 shafts --- wish me luck!!!!

I bought a Skyline diff for my S14a, but never actually used it. It's been sat in my garage since, with the skyline shafts. They run a shorter ratio to the stock S14 diff, so acceleration is increased. Alot of people use them on the SXOC for drifting, but I was going to use mine for track days.

I might aswell sell it to be honest because it's never going to get fitted now.

What i know so far is (i think its correct)......

All these diff's are the same AKA N200 ;)
they should all fit into the same casings but somtimes need a little adjustment and also would require the correct output shafts, halfshafts and hbs
