I get that you want to know more faster, but the work is not due to start til next week, I'm personally not designing or coming up with the technical solution, this will be trial and error, done by my specialist, but will be photographed at every stage, then posted on here. Also I don't know if he would like his details bragged about on here until he is happy with what he is trying to do, I'm sure you can understand this. I am just trying to be professional as I am hoping to make strong company ties with these guys. But I promise that as soon as I am able to, I will post as much info as I can.

All I do know about the thoughts on this prototype box is that the circlip is going to be completely replaced with a sleeved lock ring similar to what you would find in a VQ or RB gearbox, thus completely eradicating the problem of the gears slipping of their shaft and turning into swarf. ;)

Ah, right ok. From your previous posts I got the impression you were saying nothing and wanted to be a 'middle-man' between us and the company doing the work. Sorry about that.

Not at all, I like you want an alternative that is affordable. I am putting my cash and time into hopefully creating another alternative, I hope that this will be of great benifit to anyone with a high power S15, which is another reason for me doing this, as there has been alot of chat on this subject, but no action. I will release the identities of the companies that I am doing the work with, only once they are happy for me to do so. I stand to gain no income from this, except helping test the prototype. If all goes to plan then this modification will be made available through the company doing the work.

Maybe it's just me, but i see no problem either with "playing middle man" and making a bit of cash back from this, even if just to re-coup' the costs involved in R'n'D'!

Fair play to you for actually wanting to do something about the problem, rather than just telling all about the possibilities of swapping to different boxes etc. I did a little bit of work before on Rx8 boxes, cause they're actually the same box, with a different bell housing. Turned out though, that they had a different input shafts. Thought they'd be a good alternative if compatible because they're so readily availiable! :D

Good luck to ya, and hope you're sucessful in your research! :D

I didn't say at any point there is a problem with playing middle man.

I don't like it though for a couple of reasons. Firstly, I've spent many months and much money making the cooling panels that I am offering in the GB for no benefit to me. If I sell enough to turn a profit, that money will be invested back into the club and used for developing future products that will be offered to members that would otherwise be unavailable. Any overall profit will be used to help cover running costs and used for club events etc, so people who contribute to the forum get more back from it.

Secondly, if someone wants to make money from selling items (ie. trading) they must apply for trader status on here and, if approved, will be given a traders title.

Either way I've offered my assistance to Nick in the development as I am all for a stronger box and it is now obvious that the above is not the case.

:)

Edit: BTW, IS200 6-spd internals have been swapped over into the S15 box too with successful results which is good as a low-mileage IS200 box has probably seen a lot less grief than a S15 box!

To save argument, what Craig is saying is correct and fair, he just got the wrong end of the stick, we've cleared all this up and he has very kindly offered some very generous help! Which is much appreciated

This forum is about like minded lovers and owners of the fab S15, it is somewhere we can come to give free help and advise, and get it too. This is why if you plan to make profit from what you are doing, quite rightly you should have trader status. This way its fair on everyone

Well the box is at the shop, my guy is has been busy with other projects, hopefully will be done by the new year, plus my engine build is taking longer than I thought, so I haven't been pushing him. As soon as it all comes together I will post! Soon... Hopefully!:wack:
