Il stick a photo up the wekkend but Got a set of 18 inch rims.9.5 rear and 8.5 on the front.225/40 tyres are fitted all round but the 2 back ones are shot.
Gettin new tyres and need a second opinion. As 225/40's are on the front, the wall looks taller-bigger and the wall on the rear looks smaller and lower as the tyre is stretched onto the rim.The car looks to be sittin down at the back.
Should i get a higher wall like 235/50 for the rear to compensate OR just move the two front tyres onto the back and get 225/35 for the front to compensate. Its wreckin my head!:annoyed: Photos would be greatly appreciated. They are very similar to the nurburgrings thanks guys

225 seems really narrow on a 9.5" rim. I've got 225/45/17 front and 255/40/17 rear on 8 and 9" rims respectively. The rears came with 235s on and i thought they looked too narrow. At the end of the day a supprisingly wide range of tyre sizes will fit a given wheel size so you're probably best following hypnotik's advice and getting some that'll give you the same diameter as your fronts. Just remember to re-calibrate your speedo with a sat nav after you make the change.

Hypnotic is spot on for a near flush fit (slight stretch but hardly any) I'm also running 225/40/18 on my front 8.5's and 255/35/18 on the rear 9.5's

i wouldnt think so.Had 245/40's on the rear of my last set and it looked well.I could have went with 35 on the rear but at the moment the 40 is stretched as it is.My roads are a bit worse than yours so id need a bit of a wall so the rims dont get wrecked.Il stick up a pic soon

255/35's look to have the same sort of aspect ratio visually as 225/40 despite being a wider lower profile tyre. i think thats the best combination - its what i went for :)
