need to find and clean idle control valve.a lil help plz :)

my car idles a little funny when warm and instead of taking it 3hours away to get it done on warranty id rather do it myself and learn etc etc.

all i need to know is where abouts its too and a few do's and dont's :)

and pics would be great help too :)

silver bit on the left side of the engine that the big pipe goes into

look underneath near the fire wall

Here you go,its just to the left of the plenum (marked in picture) 12mm bolts. Take the plug off and un bolt it

must be an old pic. Last time I saw you car Phil it had one of those canister air cleaners.

Its not my engine bay shot Craig but it looks like the Apexi hard pipe. It been moded to fit the stock AFM with a reducer silicon (80mm to 60mm)I'm running the HKS hard pipe which I prefer over the Apexi

Its very similar to this kit.

take it you mean AFM (air flow meter). This would be more probable really. they do give trouble. could be a coil pack as well.

does it not have 3 bolts of a size 10 mm ??? took this off to have a go at cleaning it as my idle is racing ....

what do ya do next ?? looked inside , to see a sping type mechanism ... so took off the hexagonal part that looked like it housed a sensor to find a metal part with a spring ???
