Hola,

Need to urgently work out how to tighten my handbrake cable for DWYB tomo :)

I've seen an opening in the plastic cover near the base of the handbrake but with little light this morning, I could only spot summat circular and black inside that can possibly turn with a tool... is this the part I need to turn to tighten the wand etc??

Cheers,

J

I think 10mm is correct. Page BR-34 in the manual shows the pics and the adjustment proceedure.

So...

Can anyone confirm whether it's clockwise or anti-clockwise to tighten and is it a case of do a bit, try it and then do some more if necessary??

Cheers :)

long skinny 10mm deep socket
long exention bar
ratchet

set the handbreak where you and buy holding it with the button in and tighten (as usual) clockwise with your other hand
try not to stretch the cables

if its a stock setup i wouldnt even bother
z then its worth while

to be honest you would improve quicker without the gaybreak
trying to link a track because you cant extend with the gaybreak will teach you 10 times more
and also diffrent tequnics to inishiate and also to slow yourself for tigher corner

man my spelling sucks tonite

Thanks for all the info guys...

I didn't get time to adjust before DWYB yesterday so I just went onto main track and tried it... actually works ok now?! Before with stock pads it never existed, now it's pretty good with just an upgrade to Ferodo DS2500 rear pads :)

But I only wanted the wand as an 'extra'... I can still initiate using either feint or dab of the brakes to upset the balance as I'm trying not to clutch kick as much as I used to since the twin plate clutch will kill it!!! :(

The bit I'm using the wand for is only really when she understeers and I have to re-initiate mid-corner or to try and scrub speed when a fast bend turns into a tight hairpin like apex (the main EDC track first corner)...
