hey Nicely, nice oil catch can.
ive just installed a Cusco one today. but found that the engine cuts when i stop, so need to give it a bit of a heel and toe before i stop..
this is only when i vent the gas. (not routing it back to the intake)

Any i deals why this happens and a solution

i see you got one line going to the back of the engine??

is that a vacum???

Yes. The rear outlet has a one way valve in it and sucks the fumes back through to the plenum. This creates a vacuum under the cam cover. Its these fumes that you have the catch tank for. To stop them going back into the plenum and altering the mixture.

Have you got a sealed circuit in your catch tank and hoses? If not, additional air could be sucking into the plenum. This air would be bypassing the AFM and stuffing-up the A/F ratio. This could cause stalling on lift-off...

You could, but you will need to block the plenum pipe and turbo inlet pipe. This closes the vacuum.

The setup you have is quite usual. If the catch tank is the only thing you altered, it is likely that there is a air leak somewhere...

The cutting out problem could be a boost pipe after coming off or has a hole in it. Have a look at my pics. I have a Cusco catch tank installed. I must put a breather filter on the 2nd outlet.

which pipe do you mean when you say boost pipe Derek ??
also have my HKS BOV venting to atmos. would that affect it?? but no problem before fitting the oil catch.

Check the pipes around the bov, There might be one off or air getting in somewhere. My oil catch tank didn't cause no problems. Is the Metal Bung in properly?

The braided hose coming from turbo has the bung in it.
This is where mines fitted. It might help you.

my oil catch can is the exact same as Derek's

never fixed the problem with the can venting to atmos before...

but fitted my power FC today and decided since the power FC has a idle self learn function i'll give it a try venting the can back the atmos and BOV too.
and it worked no more problems with idling.

with no more air going back to the turbo the idea is it's suppose to stop the blades from stalling and should spool up quicker!! well i hope
