s15 Brakes - Specific Questions - Help please!

Hello all , I am fairly new on this forum and really just needed a few specific questions answered.
For starters I do have the FSM that is available for download on this site, but it seems to be a bit lacking in info on changing the rear pads.

so far I have got the calipers off the car and disconnected the handbrake cable as that seems to give you more room for movement to get the pads in etc. I finally worked out that the rear pistons screw in ( with a bit of a tip off from a mate at a local auto parts store ) but what I noticed that when I do screw the rear piston in the rubber boot seems to twist with it.

Now I *have* read the bit in the FSM that advises that you should align the bump on the brake pad with the indent on the brake piston, but what I want to know is - If I put the pad on with the boot around the piston twisted will it cause damage? or will it come good in time?

I see from the FSM that you are supposed to put some sorta rubber grease around the boot on the front pistons but it never really mentions anything about that on the rears. My common sense would tell me that I need to go out and screw the piston back out and perhaps lubricate the boot / seal so that it does NOT twist with the piston when I retract it to put the pads on?

I can supply pics if anyone needs!

Now to the fronts - the FSM seems a LOT more specific about work on the front calipers and rotors. I have noticed that there is a leak from the front right caliper , so I am going to order the kit from my local Ni$$an dealership that includes all the O rings etc, and it *seems* fairly easy to fit, but is it something I should pass to a brakes specialist to do?

I am fairly handy with DIY and I do have a good basic selection of tools, and I would like to give it a go myself ,but if there are any pitfalls for the uninitiated I would love to know before I dive on in..

Sorry for the lenghty post but really need to get these brakes sorted soon. Thanks in advance everyone!

you should untwist the boot :)

you can DIY the rebuild if you like, just make sure you have access to a compressor and MAKE VERY SURE you put blocks of wood (or similiar) in between the pistons because they will come flying out like a missile :D

It's all straight forward just keep the brake fluid off everything and take your time and lube everything with the correct lube :)

Make sure the interior touching surfaces of the calliper and pistons are spotless before putting back together. If not, you may get jamming and possible leaks.

You can buy a specific tool for doing the rear pistons from a decent auto shop.
