Boot Lid Spring tension adjustment?

I recently removed the wing / spoiler from my Spec R GT , and since there is less weight on the bootlid it springs open at a rapid rate. Not such a problem if you unlock it with the Key but its a bit of a PITA if you open it from the drivers seat.

I tried removing one of the tension rods ( springs ? ) and sadly there is not enough power in the remaining spring to keep the boot open.

Has anyone else got an easy solution to this problem??

I am thinking I could heat and bend both the tension rods/springs to try and make them less powerful , but wanted to see if there was an easier solution

Thanks in advance

Dont bother mate. Just put the other tenson rod back in and live with it.

thanks for the reply was begining to think no one on here loved me :D

yeah I have come to that conclusion too - and dont want to add any weight into it cause that sorta defeats the purpose of losing a bit of weight by removing the wing

an ideal solution would be a gas strut to give it a bit of resistance but that would require effort

Find a spoilerless Spec S that is being broken and take the springs out of it? Mine is spoilerless from the factory and I've no such issues (unless the wind catches it that is :D )
