One of my next jobs will be to move the battery into the spare wheel well, then I can remove the battery tray too. It should look a lot tidyer in the engine bay with the tray removed.
we used to do this on rx7's at my old work, i would like to do this also... we just used to use very heavy wire (stereo looking wire) and cut to right length and attach spade connectors and bolt to old terminals unfer bonnet and obviously run under carpet to boot.

Have another look mate....

Heres a link for the battery website, think it was about £50

http://www.tayna.co.uk/

Edit: heres the full link... http://www.tayna.co.uk/Type-054-Varta-Asia-Car-Battery-P3201.html
i checked the dimensions of the battery of the website and they are as follows 187 x 127 x 225mm

but i checked mine as had suspicions it were a small one and it turns out smaller- 180 x 120 x 200mm

thinking of relocating to boot though as looks tidyer and makes car easier to work on but gives me more confidence if i decide to keep in engine bay..

If you decide to move it into the boot it is a fair bit of work, but well worth it if its done well :)
