Brake set up with R34 GTR Caliper

    OK

I 'accidently' scored a pair of front R34 Brembo Front calipers with blue pad (maybe Endless?)

Anyway I think I got hooked by this brembo 'bait' that now I need to set up the rest of brake system...

So things I think I need to upgrade now is Front rotor, approved braided lines, total rear brake conversion and master cylinder.

Info I gathered so far is that I need to use either Z32 or R34 GT-T rear brake conversion right?

and something like 300mm Front disc and Z32 brake master cylinder?

Unsure of what braided line to use...

Anyway another question is that if this is an overkill... I do go to track occasionally and some say Brembo is an overkill but hell they stop like jack knife. I only have it cos it was a special mate's rate... anyway need help on completing brake set up!

I really wanted to have 18" for street and 16" for track use but I don't think I can use 16" anymore can I...

OK, R33 or R32 GTR V spec rears are the same as R34 GTR (just black instead of gold )
R34 GTR calipers have different sized bolts to S body. So you have a choice of either timserting the calipers (to take the std bolt) or drilling the hubs out to 14mm to take the R34 bolts. I prefer the timesert method. Did this on my S13 without issue.

Brake lines for the front are the same for S14/15 and R34. Apex Performance in the UK can sell you a kit for the swap too but Id probably just get a local hose specialist to make you up some.
Front discs are 324mm from memory. R33 GTR/32 GTR V spec will fit too. I think rears you will be fine fwith Z32s or 32/33 GTSt. Rear swap is a pain in the ass! SO good luck with that!
I have never bothered swapping the master cylinder in any of the swaps Ive done. Never had any issues there either.
16" wheels wont clear the 16s I dont think no. 17s will tho

I agree with Matt about using timeserts method for the front. as ive drilled mine out to 14mm. would not recommend this. i went throught 3 bit and there not cheap..

rears are messy. you will basically need backing plate of z32/r33 or an s13 and drum brake assembly. rear brake cables that work well with s15 are r33.

also make sure you got the right bolts before you start. as the r34 rear caliper bolts are a finer thread if i remember correctly.

I soruced a full rear assembly off a r33 so it had everything.

If you use lesser spec models (Z32/GTSt) then the rear brake bolts are the same

ive the z32 master cyclinder in mine... and i feel it makes the difference.... but saying that i wont really know until ive hit the track with it.

i got my braided lines from Apex performance in england. there custom lines made by goodridge. top quality and fitment.

Oh as for 16" fitting i believe on certain rims that they will fit but will deffently need spacers to push the spoks out so it wont rub/ hit of the calipers.

Ive got some R33 Brembo fronts and R33 GTST calipers sitting on the floor under my Silvia that I will fit eventually

Ive read somewhere that you should change the BMC becasue it will alter the braking bias to make it more balanced with the bigger Skyline brakes?

But I dont know how true this is, but I reckon Ill do it anyway.

    Front discs are 324mm

I think the guys have already covered everything you need for the rears, I'm just going to do what raytsang did and take the whole rear assembly off an R33.
