Hi there.

I'm thinking of getting a front strut brace for my S15, with plans to get a rear at a later date.

I was just wondering which one it better, as they're both about £100.

Plus, as far as rear strut braces go, which ones run underneath the parcel shelf? I don't fancy it sticking out the top, and I like the speakers where they are.

Thanks

Thank you for the quick reply.

I'd like to have both the same make (I'm anal like that) so Cusco it is, I'll see what's going at JAE.

Thanks again

The Nismo one would be tempting but it's rear brace is overshelf.

I have written a rear strut brace fitting guide on here FYI.

Definately Cusco is the way to go

A strut brace is a strut brace, just painted a different colour.

The varying designs dont really provide noticable differences.

true but AFAIK only Cusco make an under parcel shelf one for the rear. IMHO that makes it better than the rest.

The under shelf ones are better IMHO. They dont give the glare in the rear window that the over shelf ones do.

Fronts are much of a muchness.

Can a rear one make much of a difference with all that metal in between?

I dont mind the overshelf look, each to their own and all.

I did notice a difference when I put mine in, so it must do something. Wether it is worth it, is another story.

LOL glad to have your knowledge now, just fitted a rear one but havent driven the car yet. I suppose maybe under hard acceleration the struts twist a little.

What difference did you notice meddler? Crisper inline hard acceleration and maybe hard cornering?

Didnt notice the difference on the S14 as I literally had it a day before I fitted them. And that day was spent giving it a full service, drying out the interior and generally cleanign it :)

But on the S13, the front one made a hell of a differnce. Sharper turn in. It felt like a new car!

Could definately feel the rear was stiffer during turn in and cornering. Didn't feel any difference in a straight line.

Not sure of the difference in under or over shelf design mine is over and doesn't get in way of speakers, does stiffen the rear up though:nod:

Hi, so you noticed a difference on the rear strut brace - can you describe>

Also I notice you after market speakers, were they a direct swap and how do they sound over standard and what are they? Not asking much, any blood?? :D
