Hi, my plugs are ngk blitz iridium with a 7 (heat grade?) and they are brown after about 2,000 miles. Its as though they are rusting from the thread where the spark comes from all the way to the tip. Is this normal? I thought a darkish grey was right.

Are they getting too hot? Would putting awarmer plug in work (heat grade 8)? or is it supposed to be cooler plug?

The car is running 1bar and has had lots of upgrades, bigger injectors, fuel pump, apexi ecu, fmic and other mods (exhaust, breathing etc).

Cheers, Keith

Thanks Dazz, I had looked online but the pics I found never mentioned the browning being normal.

Any idea wht the gap should be?

Rule of thumb for Import SR20 engine is 0.044" gap ( 0.044 inch = 1.11 millimeter)

this can depend on what use the car has street or race, also the plug type as well.

Nissan OEM recommend 0.035inch or 0.9 millimeter, i will assume this is on a basic NGK plug not a platinum.
