Not sure what it is but there is a bracket that is connected to the rad bracket that this unit bolts to. I am thinking along the boost solenoid thingamujig.

Its a valve which controls the carbon canister system. It takes a boost reading from the plenum and feeds back to the canister. I'm assuming its more efficient that the system on the S14, as that had the boost feed going directly to the carbon canister.
