High RPM because of wrong gear
Hey guys,
I was driving on the highway yesterday at about 120 kph in the 3rd gear.
I wanted to change to 4th but hit the 2nd one and the rpm climbed to 8100 (according to the avcr)
The engine has full power and runs smoothly, is there anything i have to worry about ?
Thanks

I would guess that if the engine still runs and sounds the same it should be ok? Same goes for the gearbox. If there’s literally nothing different about the car then you may have had a lucky escape.

Very lucky, that's how you snap a rocker arm

8100 RPM is still safe but it may have revved so quick that the AVCR couldn't keep up with the reading. You would have to use your judgement to say whether you felt the car may have revved higher
If you think it did, I suggest to inspect the rocker arms, its definitely worth doing rather than risking your engine. They would show small cracks if any damage is done

I wanted t change all rocker arms next month, 350 € is way less than a new engine, are there any reinfoced arms ?

Not that I am aware of, you can get rocker stoppers as well that stops lift at high RPM
