High Idle Problem.

Greetings..

I'm a bit flummoxed at the moment with a 'wee problem' with my idle. Story is as follows:

1. When it starts it goes up to about 2k until warm and then drops to about 800 and idles nicely ... perfect
2. After driving for a bit and then coming to a stop the idle won't go below about 2k... just stays there.

I could understand it if it was always high... then I could go about fixing it... the confusing bit is that it drops after warming up...

Any ideas as to where to start?

I'm going to try and reset the TPS and see if it makes any difference... I've been doing some more research since my post and it seems it is not unusual where one has performed an Auto to Manual conversion... as the car slows down the auto computer tries to up the revs to compensate and stop the car stalling. I'm going to also try and short circuit the shift lever connector so that it always thinksit is in Neutral... maybe that'll do it too...
