i've done a search so have a rough idea,
however i'm just wondering what brake pads your all using?
and what you'd recommend.

i've got brembo discs front and rear, the fronts are the 315mm big brake kit
and i'm getting ferodo ds2500's front and rear.

what are they like ?

do they work fine from cold ?

I've been over on sxoc and most of the guys seem to like the ds2500's,
but i did read a couple that said they were scary when cold.
i want to make sure i get my pads right as its a safety issue.

i wont be doing many track days either.

if your not doing many track days, any 'street' application pad should be fine, i've used the project mu type ns (0-400 degrees) and they work great from a cold start or after some heavy breaking...

I think the DS2500 are great. However I would choose something a bit more street oriented if I wasn't tracking the car.
DS2500 are very dusty. So you would have to clean those nice rims you've got very often :)

I'm thinking about buying some Endless SSS pads for street use and then use the Ferodos for track only.

I wrote a big speel about pads last night, but my comp crashed

Anyway, i said something like -
I have 2500's on the front and think they are great, yes they are dusty but i wash the car so often you dont notice it, i have bought some 2500's for the rear to, which i cant wait to get on. I would highly recomend them, yes from cold the 1st press of the peddle doesnt do much, but only for about a second, then they grip, after that they hold very well, and get better the hotter they are.

But as said about, if your not looking to do any track work, i'd go with something like Nicely has suggested.

Porterfields cope with track just fine. DS2500s have been known to be fried on the track. I've run DS2500 too and won't be wasting the extra ?50 a set again... :)

Thank you for your replys,

The brakes are being fitted tomorrow, so i grabbed what we had in stock.
that happened to be ferodo ds2500 front and rear.
It wasnt bad though as i got them the same price as nicely said for the other sort :)

as for the dust i'll just have to wash them after every trip

when they make them for the s15 [ under development at the moment ]
i'll be going for performance friction pads, they only do them for evos and scoobys at the moment,
as they are the dogs danglie's !

Hey,

Would Porterfield R4-S pads be a worthwhile upgrade when used with the standard discs if at current I'm just using Nissan pads.

laze.
