Detonation Cans

He fellow S-owners,

I'm busy getting a good Knock-Detection-System, building this:

Earmuffs with a air hose attached to the blok. Seems simple, and simple solution are the best!

Anyone tried this on a SR20DET? any good results?

What will be a good spot to bolt it? (there are some holes on the cilinder head but than you have all the valve train noise)
Not keen on drilling/taping..
I'm hoping there is a hole near the stock knock sensor to bolt it

If I remember correctly, there is a tapped hole under the inlet manifold. It's a pain to get to, but is in a good place. I've never used a set of cans, it was for a Phormula KS4 when I had one. I ditched that ages ago though and just use the PowerFC knock reading and warning light

Nice! sounds like the one I wan't... but not really keen on taking the engine out to mount the det-cans...

Could you guide me too that bolt? behind the thermostat or something?!
i can't find it and from underneath i have to have 5cm wrists... (and still not able to see it)

maybe point it out?
