Hi guys, the 15 has developed a bit of a problem.

When in traffic and pulling away in 1st the car shakes and judders pretty violently.
Nothing happens when moving etc, just when in 1st and releasing the clutch.

Anyone know what'll be wrong with it?
Clutch fooked?

cheers all :)

That's usually an indication of the clutch being near the end of its life yeah. What clutch do you have fitted?

Thought it might be, doh!

No idea, it was on the car when I got it less than 6 months ago. Fresh import so no history to check.

Has it always been like that or it just started? Some clutches are like that, it's knackered if it's a stock one though or basic upgrade type one.

Aye unsprung clutches and some of the 'extreme' heavy duty sprung clutches are juddery, mine is and that was fresh on last week.
If it's just started then it could be end of life.

Yeah just started over the last week, it's okay when cold but if I've been edging along in traffic for a while it gets pretty horrendous!

Would you suggest the flywheel and that too, or just the basic clutch kit?

Thanks for the link, I'll have a proper look tomorrow morning. DW do a decent exedy deal but not sure whether to get the fly too.

Been out in it for a bit and it was fine, no juddering. Argh. Even did an epic launch and it was fine after.
Not sure if it's best to leave it for a bit and see how I get on.

that will be the clutch as said previously. The standard s15 clutches are dual mass and stop start does them no favours so its worn out of balance.

It's been pretty good since Wednesday so hoping it lasts a bit longer!

Been told to do some clutch dumps to try and fix it, might give that a miss though, hah!
