Hey guys,

I wanted to start a small post with details about what is recommended to be done to a newly imported car.
I'll keep updating this as more suggestions and details come in - my s15 is due to arrive around June 15th so I'll try record the process for anyone that needs it (it's not on here already!).

So suggestions of oil specs, details are welcome... What did you do??

Plans so far:
  • Aux Belts
  • Engine Oil
  • Gearbox Oil
  • Diff Oil?
  • Spark Plugs
  • Brake Fluid
  • Fuel/Oil Filters
  • Remap??
  • Alignment (thanks pegliobaglio)

Get your alignment looked at too buddy. Such an important thing to get sorted. Can massively impact the way these cars drive! Mine ran -7 deg negative camber when I got it 😋 it drove sideways rather well but that's not the best going round every corner or roundabout you come across ha ha ha

There's no point in going down the line of mapping until you modify the car, in my opinion.

+1. Mapping is for when things have changed in the way the car runs. Don't map until you've done all the major upgrades you're intending on doing.

Unless you have money to burn, then by all means....

Im interested in the different oils people use, engine oil, gearbox n diff oil?
I used the fuchs titan pro race s oil in my astra sri turbo, 5w40 ester synthetic. Is this any good in the sr20's?

The car is already heavily modified ;)
Main reason for mapping is mainly fuel... Suggestion from Tooley, Japan has a much higher RON fuel so want to make sure it's running smoothly on our sludge!!

That and it would be nice to get a few more ponies out of it ;)

In that case you would be better to get a session on the rollers to check fuelling, timing and any adjustments needed if you want to run on SUL
