If you are running standard cams don't bother upgrading the valve springs. If and when you swap the cams do them at the same time along with a metal head gasket etc
^^^ This, stock springs will be more then adequate for the stock set up and are still good for Tomei stage 1 cams. If you want to use aftermarket cams and keep the VCT then Tomei springs and very good.
If you do fit cams don't forget to keep all the valve shims, cam caps etc in order as you don't want to mix them up. You'd also need new rockers. As above tomei poncams can be run with stock cams iirc.
Thanks for the info guys.
I was advised by my machinist that upgrading the springs and rocker arms would be a good and safer upgrade as the head has been placed under some stress when i blew a head gasket a while ago and there is a bit of warping to the head.
All fixed now. Springs are on their way.
Can anyone suggest a good site to find rocker arms for my SR?
