Sorry to do another thread but this is a different question.

Does this sensor have any other role on performance other than the abs system?

Today I took the abs fuse in the footwell out which dissabled the abs but also the speedo...now im 90% sure this has caused overfueling..

1. more pops and bangs on overun
2. using slightly more fuel (but this could all be in my head)
3. Hunting revs when you slow down and put it into nuteral or dip the clutch at junction etc..

Now either im being a bit paranoid, what I say is true, or its a coincidence and my car has developed a sepearte issue today which has nothing to do with the speed sensor.

I thought this cant be possible as I thought the ecu only got its readings for air / fuel ratios from the maf? However as my speedo isnt working this got me thinking...

It's your speedo signal too. The ABS works in conjunction with vehicle speed, so it operates differently at 30mph than it would at 70mph.

Hi Craig

Yeh I know its where the S15 gets its speed reading from but wondered if it had any plan on the fueling side of things also?

Like would a non working speedo make the car overfuel slightly?

I put the fuse back in today so abs working againa and speedo working and hey presto no overfueling, popping banging or dropping revs...

very strange!

I didn't think so.. but maybe!?

It may be worth asking one of the tuners on here or SXOC that question though.

:)
