hey all theres something wrong with my diff its crunching and allsorts but locks fine. its a tomie 2 way.

i think the problem is the bearing on the input pinion.(i think thats what its called) but im just going to buy an s14 abs diff.

will my 2 way fit insid eit if i use my driveshafts.

is there anything else i will need to do get it to fit.

something about the nose.

do i need an abs diff as i have removed it anyway. (s15 speedo works from diff abs sensor?)

any help will be appreciated. thanks

Crunching noise? Knocking is normal, and maybe clunking on full lock! The front pinion bearing would only whine and very unlikely fail completely unless the backlash wasn't set up correctly on installation, and the pinion tube was crushed too much! Who built it?

Ive had my Nismo 2 way apart today and am going to replace the bearings and seals, its easy but building it up must be done by someone experienced with sprng tension gauges etc.

The diff will fit into the s14 case (yes you will need abs one for speedo) you will just have to have it shimmed up correctly for the preload settings. Unless you know what your doing and have different size shims I would get a specialist to do it.

your 2 way will fit grand i have just done the same thing recently its handy enough job aslong as when you remove your old diff you count the shims correctly as this is very important when fitting your diff into the new casing hope this helps
