idle over fueling problem

Thanks to your help. Still going to get the map checked though as we changed/cleaned a lot of components.

The map won't change, airflow will still be the same, but getting things checked over after an issue is always safest. Glad to be of assistance :D

With all the fault finding we have noticed the ignition timing is/was set to 20 degrees at idle which dose not sound right..

From memory, there is a proceedure for doing the ignition timing. It isn't as simple as putting a timing gun on there are reading it.

You have to disconect your TPS plug once the car is up to opperating temperature, then hook up your timing light. You then loosen the 2 12mm bolts holding the CAS to the block and aiming your timing light at the harmonic balancer you should be reading 15 degrees at idle.Sometimes it helps to put some white out on the 15 degree mark and the nich on the balancer, it makes it easier to see.

Yeah done that we know how to read / set the timing. Just a little puzzled as to why it has been set at 20 degrees.
