Hey everyone.

Was informed to join by Topper. Used to own a S13 and have been toying between a RX7 and a S14/S15 for the last little while. I had never actually seen a S15 up close, or get a chance to look around it, but he was kind enough last night to do so. Im converted!! I want a S15!! Thanks man!

Have looked around importers, and also the DIY route...Would appreciate some help there to be honest!

But yeh...Thats me, from Dunfermline, Fife and I work in Aberdeen, Monday - Friday

How y'all Doin? :)

Hello and welcome

Glad i managed to convert you...... to an S15 i mean :ghey:

As i said last night, have a look at the importers section, any questions just ask. There is also a good write-up by Yako on his import story. Just make sure your comfortable before comiting to anything, buy with your head, not just your heart.

If your car needs repairs, they will replace any modifications you have with exactly the same parts. Most insurers will only replace mods with OEM parts or parts to the value of the OEMs. This applies to a repair, not a 'write off'.

Some one buy the Smart car :D, I was taken for a drive in it last night, its feel really light, loved to attack the corners (where there were no horse's :p) and the little turbo makes a nice little spinning and pigeon noise. would be good as a fun daily, short journey driver

Welcome buddy

Yep - I've got Sky Insurance who I think are brilliant and very competitive on Jap import prices.

SXOC have got a long, recent thread running about a certain importer to be wary of. Just so you know, S15OC do not openly discuss which importers are 'bad' or 'best avoided'. We can however encourage positive feedback from a select few which owners agree are decent and well worth a look at.

Again, as Nicely suggests, use the recommended importers link and it will also be a good idea to use the stickies at the top of every forum section which answers the same questions that many have asked.

There are tons of info on this site for S15 lovers... :D

Good luck in your search - it's well worth it!

well well well...im a happy chappy this morning :)

got home from work and started the proper insurance hunt and none of these "oh come save ( get raped ) for car insurance, we're the cheapest ( dearest ) folk around and we search loads ( bollux ) of companies and find whats best ( worst ) for you"

im 21, 1 year no claims. based on 12000 miles per year, commuting included, car valued at 11.5k, with quite a few mods including wheels, coilovers, full exhaust, also mentioned to them il be adding a 2 way diff

Fully Comp. ?250 excess. and all the other standard gubbins...

?1098!!! :D :D :D

and iv only tried 2 of the recommended insurers...so much for Admirals 2700 and directlines "come back when your 25" policy

Its a specialised import, so specialist import insurers will produce the best results. I found that Sky were the only ones who actually knew the car AND knew what all the mods were... They are also the only ones who will do an agreed value (though this is a right pain to do now).

Thats good news mate

Dont know if i'd fancy an S15 with coilovers and 2-way diff for comuting, but i guess you would get used to it.

coilovers wont trouble me too much, its only motorway driving, i can put up with the stiffness becuase i know il have the look i like...the interior is comfy anyways :D, when im at home or up here in aberdeen i can play around a bit...i have been thinking about those drift car airbags i saw on a recent magazine article. that twin charged s15. atleast then i could drop it and get over bumps, and adjust it for comfort on the motorway :)

whatever though...the diff was included in that quote, which is good :)...a tad cheaper without. its all good...im just glad im below 1500...by quite a good distance :)

1st things 1st...GET A S15 :D
