No rolling for me! Lol did a few 360's though.
I'll get some better picks up when I have the spacers on.

so this week I got the car professionally undersealed . :)
looks mint underneath now.

after having the car at chizfab getting the arches rolled I got round to putting my 25mm spacers on.
Once the 14 is in the lock up for winter I will chuck on the front spacers too. Here is what it looks like now.

After taking my Celica to jonnys garage yesterday I really did feel that the s15 was underpowered.
Driving a 400bhp daily makes you really think if your imagining it.

checked the usual suspects and found this

Looks like the distributor has been taken out and not put back in properly .
there was a little movement to advance it a little and the car picked up massively.

so the next step is to get the timing done!

Few whore pics

Lastnight Herman and mark helped me look at the timing on the 15.

We connected the consult and set the base timing to 15 degrees and the engine just cut out.

Herman said there was no way it should do that.

so rocker cover off and we found that the cams have been out and the marks on the timing chain were also out.

in the dark and pushing rain we decided that we would start from scratch .

So set at tdc, and counted the links either side to the marks on the sprockets.

5 teeth on the left and 9 teeth on the right.

put all back together and put the chain tensioner in and mark noticed a small crack on it. Similar thing happened to mapboy on his.

so stuck in westhill Herman took us back to Aberdeen and picked up marks car. Went to my house and took the tensioner out my s14

finally got it got back together and distributor aligned correctly .

set base timing to 15 again and it bogged down and was running poor. It's still a tooth out we think.

Tonight we are going to marks work to set the timing, but in the light and warmth this time :)

Finally! It's done. I can thank mark more for helping out.
In the dark Lastnight we were out by one tooth.

With a tooth out on the exhaust side

so the car feels 100times better and will hopefully be better on fuel!

Next step is to get the timing set to 17degrees :)
want to get the full DE powers lol

Went to Herman's tonight to check the timing. I wanted it to run it at 17Degree's as alot of sr20de owners run them even more. I'm running the can on vpower to prevent Det. Mark did this by eye as we did not have a timing light with us.
After checking it tonight it is bang on 17 degrees Im not sure how mark does it! lol

After setting the the timing me and mark went out for a little drive. I Think its louder than my 14!

Today I wanted to see what this Jap satnav system was that has lay dormant since I got it.

I pulled out after market stereo to find all the plugs disconnected.

I plugged them all back in and to my amazement this happened.

<embed width="600" height="361" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowFullscreen="true" allowNetworking="all" wmode="transparent" src="http://static.photobucket.com/player.swf" flashvars="file=http%3A%2F%2Fvidmg.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fv474%2Fjohnst26%2FVIDEO0052.mp4">

Now the Cd/tv buttons work

However the satnav buttons do not make any change in display etc.

There is one connector that is not connected behind the unit. I couldn't find the place it connects too. I assume that the Satnav Ariel thing. Its round with 5 or more pin connectors.

With out the engine running I was playing with all the buttons this came up

A quick mms to my Scottish/Japanese friend and it says switch on engine as batteries are going to die.

Today it was time to swap the wheels over ,
Jonny popped round for a quick chat and to pick up a prop.

Weather wasn't the best for pics but just cracked on.

I had what I thought was a sticky caliper and after having the wheels off.and.had a good look it must be the wheel baring that's making the noise.
I also found that I have 4pot front caipers like the spec r. Saves me upgrading them now.

finally the end result

So today I had to replace the locks in the 15

The ebay central locking system failed and I had to brake into the car one night before I could get home lol
It started working then not, so I just ripped it out and set about fitting the lock set I bought .

The s14a locks are slightly different but can be fitted. I used the metal surround from the s15 lock to make it fit better.
Although there is still a little gap at the bottom that I will need to get filled to prevent water getting in.

Took advantage of the weather and took a few snaps

Took the car to jonnys for some last min checks before the rolling road.

"Yep its an na, its gonna be slow."

Thats all we checked lol although we did adjust the timing on jonnys silvia.

With the next Crail day looming I have been giving the 200 more attention than this.

Stevie B was free to Help me test Fit the new front bumper before painting

What a job it was to take off the disgusting original bumper. Stevie said that they really did a proper job fitting it. No tie wraps here.

The Arch liners were extended at the bottom with metal plate as the bumper stuck out further than the original. These were all screwed in and rusted solid.

Stevie had to get the grinder out!

With the bumper off I had a look at the washer bottle pumps as my front washers stopped working. Found that one of the motors terminals were way too badly corroded so I have just swapped this from the rear.

A few pics of the Car with it fitted.

Fitment was not that Bad, only slightly tight at the right hand side where it meats the wing, however with all bolts in its ok.

Bumper is with Stevie now cant wait till he has time to fit it in :)

It's a vtx style bumper. Mix between vertex and aero copy, it's not a bad fit either .
will look epic when painted.
I'll be there, prob with the s14 if I van get the work done in time and get it mot'd .

Another question I have.
do they have 5 stud hubs as std?
4pot calipers at std?

It has a gareish front bumper. Its marmite!

5 stud hubs are stock but the 4 pots are not. Chances are that they more than likely were snagged off of a R32, R33 or R34 Skyline from a junk yard or used parts shop. And if thats the case then the rotors on there will be bigger than stock as well. I had to grab mine off a R33 from a junk yard. Becareful as well that the 4 pot calipers will not clear stock rims. I know your probably not going to go that route but its usefull info to have anyhow.

So sold pictures of the car back to the company I bought the bumper from.
Well.....I mean for discounts :)

Car outside S.J.R today

Outside my house

So the S15 has had a poorly wheel baring for a while. So bad that its started to shudder the steering.
When swapping it for a working one we came into come complications. The baring came of in 2 and would not budge.
Jonny mac got out the grinder to cut it and pull it off.

After a bit or grinding and pulling it came off.

What a difference.

Gotta thank Jonny again for his help as the Denmore Sbody Garage :)

Few Pics of the car after
