move to NZ man, cars are cheap here! Rego per year is approx $240, warrants are $60 and then you just have to cover petrol. Cars are cheap too Evo7 $26K, 2000 S15 $21K, R33 GTR $30K. It would only be cheaper in Japan eh.
I bought my NZ new S15 in 2002 and sold it in Jun 2004

brand new value 42000NZD
SOLD 24000NZD(stock)
it was only 16000kms

NEVER BUY A BRAND NEW IN NZ

i'm not sure about Singapore but in Thailand (where i live) the taxes for imported car is 300% of the actual price....

55% in Russia + 18% VAT on top... for cars between 1 & 3 years... from 3 to 7 years the price goes down to 1 euro per cc of engine size + VAT and if the car is older than 7 years you can forget it - 3 euro per CC of engine size... which is why my 300zx is still in the US - can't afford 9000 euro's worth of import duty!!!
