 Hi just new to this forum, was wondering if anyone could help me out

looking to import a 2002 s15 spec R,
im new to importing and live in northern ireland so not sure whats the best way to do it
but heres some ive been looking at

jm-imports.co.uk
japaneseusedcars.com
svaimports.com
torque-gt.co.uk
japaneseimportspecialists.co.uk
sabeimports.com
prodriftuk.com
j-garage.com

ive seen that torque-gt seems to be highly rated by some people
has anyone heard or had any past experience with japaneseimportspecialists or sabe imports, they seem to look good, along with torque-gt.
im just not sure which one to go with and want to be sure of the company becuase its a lot of money at the end of the day

I have been emailing Jurgen from jm and Mike from torque gt. i think im going to go ahead soon with torque gt, Mike has been really helpfull with all my questions !
still a bit scared of spending 10 plus grand and it coming with problems or not as good as condition as described etc, anyone had any trouble with importing a car and it coming with damage or anything that wasnt on the inspection sheet or any issues at all ?

also is there is common problems with these cars normally ?

With your comments on being worried about it not coming in good condition it might be worth waiting for someone to buy one for their own stock. That way you can walk away.

I have just got an S15 from Jurgen and I have no complaints at all.

Ah another member from Northern Ireland! Welcome along matey :) as for S15's Jurgen and Mike are probably the best guys if you want to import one. I have been on this site for quite sometime and these guys get nothing but raving reviews! Although who are you planning to insure it with? Because for me Quinn Direct are the only ones willing too

I'm 23 an I am currently insured with Quinn Direct on my import civic and I am paying just under £1000, they said for a "standard" S15 Spec R I would not pay any more than what I am! I did try Adrain Flux and told them of all the modifications I wanted to do and they came back with £1600 but because I want a standard S15 to build to my preferences the initial price for insurance would be alot higher until I started to modify the car, as they are a specialist only in modified cars! I had yet to try admiral but I'll give them a call when my renewal is up!!!

So what part of northern Ireland do you reside from? There aren't many S15's here anyway so I think it's best we all get to know each other lol I have only ever seen 3 running about, I just love them! But I will be I the same scenario as yourself and hopefully soon lol but I need to finish off the civic first!

Yeah that is my plan; get a standard S15 then add my personal touch to it! I am from Ballymena :D So I am not too far from yourself! Yeah they are amazing cars but I think there isn’t many around because of the price £8,000+ lol. But I hope they stay rare because I love that about them! Well my little Civic is now in the body shop so when it is back the hunt shall begin for myself, cannot wait for it lol

BTW if you do get your S15 before me, would you mind if I could come down and have a look around it? As I have yet to get up close and personal with one lol

So how is your experience so far with Mike @ Torque GT?

Yeah sure Gaz, if I do get one I'll happily come down and show you it! Have you got many plans for your S15 when you get it?

Well that is great to know! Has Mike got one sourced one for you yet? I am going to try and get one here in the UK rather than get one from Japan, but if I get impatient I will get one brought in for me lol Does he offer any sort of warranty on his cars?

I already know EVERYTHING I want to do to mine, that's if I get one lol I love to plan ahead, kinda OCD like that lol one thing I always wanted to know is that if something did go wrong On the car and it was under the warranty while you had it here, would you need to take it back to mike to get it sorted? Or how that works!

lol ! what are your plans for yours when you get it ?

Ive read storys about torque gt, and some guys turbo went just a few weeks after collecting it, he got it sorted at his local and torque gt covered the costs, but im not 100% sure how it works, ill have to check personally with Mike. also it would cost us more time and money having to bring the car back and forth to them anyways  but its a 10plus year old car so im sure things will go wrong with them at some stage, ill just have to accept that lol

Just typical plans really; work on suspension, tweek the engine slightly to get more out of the SR20, tart up the interior i.e Bride seat/Nardi steering wheel, alloy wheels, possibly upgrade brakes. Just enough to put my personal touch on it! Nothing too major, it'd be costing me enough already lol Well if he can cover the repairs with a local garage that would be perfect Gaz, would save us a great deal of traveling lol but yeah could you check that with mike and also let me know what he says as I'd like to know aswell :)

Well now they are Japanese cars so they will last forever, can survive anything! Even tusnami's lol :p but for a 10 plus year old car I think they look amazing!

So what's your car history been like and how did you come across S15's?
