today at work my boss said to throw away a connecting sock (in a powder drying plant) which just happens to be made of full Kevlar cloth, it got thrown away simply due to it having a small hole in it.
these are used as a backup control in case of a explosion to keep the blast away from where people might be.

Laid out its 500mm wide and 3m long and i can get hold of more of it, every time they decide a connecting sock is not in perfect condition it gets binned.

What i was thinking was since we all crack our bumpers on drive exits among other parts of the road, would it make a good fiberglass patching material?
After seeing the latest pic of James Lu's old S15 the front bumper being rather bashed i was thinking could it be glassed onto the back of bumpers as a strength bracing?

Maybe a type of fire proofing?

Any other ideas?

As you said Kevlar is usually used to reinforce behind bumpers and side skirts and works really well :)

Suppose you could wrap stuff in it aswell? depending on the condition and what your wrapping I guess?....
