Hope this makes a few people smile, take a look at what I managed to do last weekend. I have accidentally turned my new manifold golden....

I had some clear high temperature (upto 650 degrees) spray on laquer and I thought it would be a good idea to put a few coats of it onto my new manifold before i get it fitted next month, and maybe it will not go all horrible looking.

The instructions say to bring it up to working temperature for an hour to cure the laquer on, so... I put it in the oven at 200 degrees. Intitially not put off by the smell I left it for 45 mins then had a look.

I think I might have made a mistake :s but if the manifold stays looking like this then Im pretty pleased with myself. I did make sure that I didnt spray any laquer on any surfaces that come in contact with gaskets, and no laquer inside the manifold whatsoever.
