Afternoon! Picking my S15 up in less than a week and trying to get prices etc for a few bits and bobs! Mainly the remapping of it, it's got stock turbo, large FMIC, apexi induction kit with supposed apexi airflow meter?(will confirm on purchase), defi boost gauge, and boost controller, with full decat exhaust.

So what would I need for a remap and how much would a remap be? Heard good things about Horsham developments? I live in Wiltshire, so anywhere local would be better. Norris designs any good for S15's?

I'm a mechanic and work for a Subaru specialist, we remap them using EcuTek software on the Stock ecu, is this possible for a S15?
Any info would be good!
Many thanks
Sam

it's possible to remap the stock nissan ecu. horsham, norris etc are able to do that and sell staged chips for s14's but s15's would need a custom remap of the stock ecu using a daughterboard. people like steve at fctuning can remap using nistune ecu's which aren't massively more expensive and are regarded as a better alternative amongst lots of people. not sure if ecutek can be used with the s15.....
the airflow meter is probably a z32 meter so thats a bonus. if it was me i'd look at getting a walbro fuel pump and considering what mods are already fitted, you may as well opt for some 550 or preferably 740cc nismo inj before going ahead with remapping. this way the injectors won't be working to maximum duty. 740's can be had for similar money as 550's and they work fine so you may as well seek those out. remaps of the stock ecu are something like 350+ for a road map......

on these mods you should see a steady 320hp/300+ib/ft of torque at 1.2bar-ish....

oh, and welcome to the club :)

Cheers for the info guys, one thing Are injectors really a necessity? As they seem to be £400 and I won't be pushing more than 320 ever as it's my daily. Fuel pump is a yes tho as there not much. I Will be changing all fluids, plugs etc when I get it so will stick in a colder set of iridiums! I think horshams will be my first port of call as they are local and seem better than Norris, plus Simon Norris is a co#k.

Lol yeah jez is cool I have taken my car there a few times mate,I reckon standard injectors will be maxed at around the 310 mark some max before that ,maybe you would be better looking for a solid useable 300 bhp mate for a daily that should be more than enough.
Here is the best guide I have seen as to what's necessary for each stage and what you can hope for out of your set up mate.

This is just a general guide for what mods are required for boost upgrades. People have different opinions about this, but If you stick to this guide you should be ok.
This does not take into consideration essential things like suspension, brakes and clutch improvements that will be required at an early stage.

Standard - 0.7bar boost, 250PS
Curb weight 1200–1270 kg

Stage1 - 260-280bhp
Free flow air filter
Free flow exhaust
Uprated fuel pump
Boost controller to achieve 0.9 bar boost pressure
Cooler spark plugs
Super unleaded fuel
Custom ECU remap

Stage 1a - 270-290bhp
Free flow air filter
Free flow exhaust
Uprated fuel pump
Boost controller to achieve 1.0-1.1 boost pressure
Front mount intercooler
Cooler spark plugs
Super unleaded fuel
Custom ECU remap

Stage 2 - 280-300bhp
Free flow air filter
Free flow exhaust
Uprated fuel pump
Boost controller to acheive 1.1-1.2 bar boost pressure
Front mount intercooler
Cooler spark plugs
Super unleaded fuel
Custom ECU remap

Stage 2a - 290-310bhp
Free flow air filter
Free flow exhaust
Uprated fuel pump
Boost controller to acheive 1.2-1.3 bar boost pressure
Front mount intercooler
Tubular manifold and uprated turbo elbow
Uprated dump valve
Cooler spark plugs
Super unleaded fuel
Custom ECU remap

Stage 3 - 310-330bhp
Free flow air filter
Free flow exhaust
Uprated fuel pump
Boost controller to acheive 1.2-1.4 bar boost pressure
Front mount intercooler
Tubular manifold and uprated turbo elbow
Nismo 555cc/740cc injectors
Z32 AFM
GT28RS or GT2871r turbo
Uprated dump valve
Cooler spark plugs
Super unleaded fuel
Custom ECU remap

Stage 3a - 340-360bhp
Free flow air filter
Free flow exhaust
Uprated fuel pump
Boost controller to acheive 1.3-1.4 bar boost pressure
Front mount intercooler
Tubular manifold and uprated turbo elbow
Nismo 555cc/740cc injectors
Z32 AFM
GT2871R turbo
Uprated dump valve
Cooler spark plugs
Super unleaded fuel
Custom ECU remap

Stages beyond this will require internal head and bottom end work

If you're looking at 320 or slightly more I'd still be inclined to get injectors upgraded to 555cc or 740cc since once you go above 300+ bhp you're going to be maxing stock ones!

Have a good think about Nistune since for the cost it's spot on and again for 320 bhp or thereabouts you're not really going to want anything more hardcore like Apexi and Vipec etc.

Yeah injectors is a defo but more likely a year down the line once I get bored with the new aim power figure of 300bhp. I think I will get either get Stuart from fctuning or Horsham, probably Horsham as they are less busy than Stuart and are closer plus they can fit the nistune and map it.
How much is a nistune? As you say a power fc is not really worth the money for 300bhp.
