Jez only does custom mapping for S15s, due to numbers and mod variations.. He has stage chips for the S14, S14a and S13.

He should consider doing a chip for full exhaust, FMIC and air filter as that's probobly the first point when the S15 needs a remap to gain more effect.

Should be a quite few people on here who would be interested. :)

i think for the cost of it to be live mapped though, i wouldn't bother with a "generic" chip...

Now, you see, if you lived in Scotland, Sweden, Oz or NZ rather than Kettering, you probably wouldn't take that view... Newbury is a long way from those locations

Agreed, we would sooner make our cars to match the relevant ship  - Which is why Jez make so much money :D

true.... but surely a custom mapped chip from someone else, at a nearer location would be a better idea than a generic chip?

obviously i'm not knocking anyones work here... and if this is what they want etc....

but i've always been "advised" to steer from generic chips.

i was going to do a 130mile trip to get the hondata remapped at TDI north.

Your prob right, but there are no generic schips for the S15, so we cant have this debate..... yet :)

There are a few people local to me who could do the mapping, but only 1 i would trust, but i dont know of his skill level and dont know anyone who has had a car mapped by him  - Jez has a proven record.

Of course I could have the car remapped over here.
But then I would have to get an ECU or piggyback. And the mapping cost would probobly be twice of the cost of a Jez chip.

I probobly will get a new ECU later if I start changing cams and turbo and stuff.
Intill then a generic chip will work fine.
I may get a couple of horsies less then a custom map, but I'm willing to sacrifice those :D

Custom mapping, yes. But custom mapped Jez chip can only be mapped by him. He developed the chips and the software to map them. I would be more inclined to trust a Stage 1 S15 chip from Jez than anyone else. But this is because I've been out on three mapping sessions with him and know how and what he does to achieve the mapping...

like i say, not doubting his skills 1 bit.... proof is in the pudding etc!

obviously it's down to who and what you can get done locally, i'm just fortunate of where i'm located.

for topper, i'd say pay for a flight to scotland and have it done...... but obviously going further a field would mean more people would be needed in on the mapping session to make it worth while.

a bloke called mase from the US frequently makes trips to the UK to map honda's.... but a group of 5 cars is needed!
