Small problem with temp gauge...

So Im driving into town today and see my temp gauge gone way up!

it was dropping every few seconds to half but as soon as I hit the clutch it goes flying up??

I had a problem like it before one of the battery connections is slightly broken and it caused my cd player to cut in and out and temp gauge to go mental like this.....so i tightened the crap outta it??


I checked the car when I came home to see if i could see anyleaks or hissing and nothing it wasnt overheating just the temp gauge is telling me it is.

any ideas?

might be air in the rad or something?

but it wont budge on idle when driving and i hit the clutch.

I'd guess the sensor is either shorting out or broken. If there was air in the system it shouldn't cause the gauge to fluctuate rapidly I wouldn't have thought..?

Check the sensors connections and maybe try a new sensor if no joy.
