What's the difference between the S15 Spec R and a S14a??

I got quoted on a 200sx S14a with wheels and a aftermarket FMIC for £811

Did you get a different quote for the Spec R? Just ring round and ask, I checked insurance prices before I bought the car just to make sure I could afford it.
Can't be much help with the 14a, but I know most insurance companies don't really change much on price whether you have a Spec S or Spec R S15. I think the differences come with the S15 because it's an import.

Yeah the S15 is a "import" that's the bit insurance companys don't normaly like. I'm on a home fleet as I have 3 cars to insurance, but I'm told Sky insurance and Adrian Flux give good quotes on S15's..

The s15 is worh alot more, Body parts are harder to get. Glass is very hard to get. And its an import so its going to be more. Who was that with im 25 and mine is £900 with sky.

Mine's gone down to £700 this year through Adrian Flux. 5 years NCB helps but I'm still only 23. Flux is good as the price doesn't change for whatever mods you have.

If you don't know what the difference is between a S14a and a S15 get on google images as this will give you an idea! :p

oi, since when was 26 old??!! lol

as its a second car, limited mileage helps bring it down, but not by much. been with flux for about 5 years and have 3 cars insured with them so a bit of bargaining power too :)

I've been with Sky Insurance for 3 years now and everytime they are the cheapest - although they are broker so underwritten by specialist company. Mine is now the grand sum of £1100+ because I rear-ended someone (no major damage) a few months after I got her and then there's the issue of 9 points (which is back down to 6 technically) lol :wack:

BTW - I'm 32 with full NCB and don't live in 'da hood' ;)

Haha, only joking! ;)

I tried insuring my 2nd car with them but they were unable to beat a competitors price unfortunately. They did try quite hard though, calling back often to keep me updated.

My renewal quote last month for my S14a was £600 for tpft with Adrian flux, i'm 25 with 5 years no claims.

I'm now paying £890 for the S15 Spec R with mods declared, 5k limited miles, ageed value and protected no claims Fully comprehensive. I was pretty impressed with that.

Think I may have been caught the other day by one of those mobile vans on a bridge above a motorway :(

I'm lucky to be a girl! makes it cheaper! But I had a long break from driving so my insurance for the Spec S (with sky) is still around £720 fully comp. It's a fortune when you think about it!

mine's 850 with Adrian and that's only cause i have no experience with performance cars according to them. heh they wouldn't accept driving a 2.5 ton pickup that doesnt stop on a dim @ 90+ as experience :wack:

at least it should go down next year

26, fully comp 7yrs Guaranteed

avoid the online quotes btw tazzy not worth crap, speak to them and let them do the hard work

I thought you'd go with Diamond 'we ONLY insure women drivers' haha :p
haha! it's funny you should say that, I did Go Compare and Diamond and Admiral came up top there!:D I got sky to match it though since they are a specialist I thought it would be better...actaully I got it a bit cheaper off them. :D
