well ive been looking for a silvia spec R for a good while and theres two im interested in but not sure which one would be the best to purchase.

The first one is the Ex chargespeed demo car which is in newcastle and its a 600 mile there and back journey for me which is one hell of a trip  but I do like the car but the only things that put me off this one is its got custom paint that I may not be able to get a code for and also its surposed to have genuine 12000km on the clock which I just find really hard to believe lol

The second car is the speed factory demo car thats a bit closer to me which I also like, only off put with this one is the engine has already been rebuilt and the cars surposed to have 24,250 miles on the clock?? bit weird if you ask me also its tuned quite a bit which is also a bit of an off put.

looking at spec and taking the things Ive said into account which silvia do you guys think is the best buy? any comments welcome, thanks, Nicko

If you do some research on this site (ie. the for sale section) you will find Gav's car - the Speed Factory one. And then if you search his threads you'll find the build thread and all will become clear. I don't think the engine has been rebuilt either, just checked over. Is it really that tuned? 320bhp/350ft-lbs is standard turbo territory. This is without doubt the one I'd go for out of the two.

There are plenty of really nice S15's for sale at the moment. If you don't believe the mileages are true do some research. Ask to see the BIMTA certificate and auction sheet, go and inspect the cars yourself. If a car has done 12k km I'd expect it to be pretty much mint inside, outside and underneath. 600 miles is a long way, but not when your spending 13k :)

Just to clear a few things up as alot of things were left off from the original build thread (now updated a bit better).

Since then as its been a while since ive updated the thread, the wiring has been stripped and redone, the maf has been replaced with a Z32, the manifold gasket has been replaced with a metal one and it has been remapped. Oh! and graphics have been added but can be removed.

Also there is nothing weird about the mileage, you just have to look underneath, ontop and inside to see that the car has done very little mileage in its life. With reference to it being tuned quite a bit, the car is running very reasonable figures with the current mods even though it has alot more potential to run bigger power than its current 327hp. www.thespeedfactory.co.uk

speed factory !!!!! what a steal.....a very cheap car for what it is.

the chargespeed kit just doesnt look right imo, why they made the rear bumper so much higher than the rest of the kit is beyond me, and there are waaay too many graphics on it.

As much as I respect JM-Imports I gotta say the Chargespeed car itself and more importantly the Chargespeed kit is a rough looking thing lol. But that's just my opinion...

I can vouch that Gav's Speed Factory demo car is pristinely built and modded with all the best parts and amazing paintjob all round. The Wisesquare kit looks superb and has got to be the only one outside of Japan as far as I know. You are getting a lot for your money cos it's so clean inside and out!

Gav's speed factory car deffo!
It looks fantastic, and is amazing value for money.
He's probably spent nearly the asking price in mods!!!!
If I had the money, I would seriously check his out!
He's crazy selling it anyway! Lol

Thanks for the very kind words guys in support of my car but sadley I think he has gone for the chargespeed one. Was a bit suprised as he did say mine drove alot smoother and more comfortable, had better and smoother power, had more spent on it, more of a unique look, preferred my wheels and preferred my colour.

Oh well.lol

Back up for sale again or shall I keep it and stick that V8 in it.

Keep it! The amount of time and money you have spent on it ,I really don't think you should sell. I don't see why he would go for the chargespeed over yours tbh he must be bonkers lol

The Chargespeed car ain't all that offensive boys, seen plenty worse, sure the colour isn't my choice, and the stickers would need removing asap.
It's not half as nice as Gav's in my opinion, but whatever floats your boat, mabey he needed finance or something and they offered it with the Chargespeed car?
Still think you got a cracking car there Gav, and if I hadn't already bought mine, I would be very interested in yours, especially for the money your asking!!!!
Wonder if he will still join us on here?

Not sure what to do really. I have it in my head that if it sells it sells but if it doesnt then I might do something a bit mad with it and keep it for another year. I must admit that the car is a dream to drive now all the ride has been done and the engine has been mapped.

Well you know what I'd say Gav - you'd be mad to sell her as she's there to be enjoyed now lol :)

I'm a big fan of V8 conversion and would love to do it myself if I had the dosh but I know a realistic figure for FD's with LS1 conversions is something in the order of £10k+ cos you gotta factor in costs of transmission etc. If you do decide on this then go for it and I'll be following your build thread with much delight

i think that car is pure porn :censored:

hard to see why one would choose the chargespeed, although it's also a nice car.

i'd be happy to buy, but i'm afraid i'll need 4-5 years to be able to finance it, as i've got three more years of study before me :annoyed: :(

Well yes I went for the chargespeed one, mainly because it was a cleaner car overall but I just wanted a more subtle look, dont get me wrong guy's Gavs car is the bollocks! drove lovely and was quick! but I wanted the chargespeed one as it is more subtle and not as aggressive looking as the speed factory S15 and more standard engine wise so it leaves me something to do myself.
