Folks

Just been chatting to Jeff at EP Racing about getting a group buy sorted for a duct/heatshield item which covers the induction filter and is made out of CF. Here's the original linky:

http://www.sxoc.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=414312

Please can everyone register their interest on this thread and Jeff will look into getting these made :) The only similar item on the market is made by Gruppe M but they're very expensive and come with a K&N filter which is not required by 99% of owners on here (IMO).

Cheers,

James

only trouble with that mate is as soon as you add an aftermarket intake pipe or afm it moves the filter position...nice though:cool:

Does it move it backwards or forwards with an aftermarket intake pipe/Z32?

I'm sure Jeff can make the unit 'compatible' so there's clearance for the filter to go a bit forwards although if it moves backwards, could be awkward.

I don't think there needs to be a tight seal around the intake pipe - it's just a shield after all so if it manages to blank of most of the warm air plus providing that extra bit of tunneling effect for the air into the filter then that's gotta be an improvement over having nothing there lol :)

To make things simpler and cheaper id reccomend it be made boxier like the Apexi induction box. Also as mentioned when you add a Z32 AFM the filter moves forward. Add to that many people change the intake pipe to a stainless one and the filter can move again. For that reason a larger hole for the pipe to enter the box area with some kind of rubber sleave might be an idea ?

Theres no reason i believe it cant be made to fit both S14/a & S15 making it more commercially vaiable as well.

Thanks for the comments Jez... I´m sure Jeff at EP will look into all this.

Big Ned - this had better be compatible with the Apexi filter cos I´ve got one myself lol ;)

I'd be interested too, but totally depends on the price so wouldnt want to commit to anything, but if it is a gauging interest thread then count me in. :)

I agree with Jez that it should be more based on the apexi box, it'd be cheaper too.

I'll register my interest but I can't commit until we have a ball park price.
With a baby on the way I have to be a bit more sensible with purchases.

snap, im well up for this, but only if the price is right.

St. May also make an induction thingy for the s14/15 called an air dancer. but this gruppe M one is much nicer.

Yeah looks like the Apexi induction flat style heat shield is gonna be a better fit for not just Apexi cone filters etc...

These are listed as discontinued on Nengun - does anyone have an idea on the price from Japan so we can compare to anything Jeff is able to produce?

BTW there´s no obligation to commit on this thread just gauging interest!! :)
