Got a spare wing mirror off one of the breakers mentioned in the For Sale section. Want to replace my folding motor, as mine is on its way out. Took it apart tonight and found this!

The mirror glass is heated! I'd assumed that JDM S15s only had the folding and motion controls (mine has), but this has taken me by surprise. I knew the Euro S14s had heated mirrors, but they didn't get the folding circuit. This is the first I've heard that some of the JDMs had both...

As we speak, I'm getting the other door mirror checked out! :p

If these work like the S14, the heaters activate with the rear de-mister.

EDIT: just checked FAST and it shows two different types... :)

Sounds good, sounds like we all learn something new everyday then.

I wonder how we find if ours are heated aswell? What part number do you have?

Just pop your mirror glass. If its got wires attached to it, its heated.

The bad news is that it looks like the main loom without heated mirrors doesn't contain the two additional wires which would hook into the rear screen de-mister circuit. Checking the S14 circuit diagram, there's also an additional relay in that circuit. Its not a vast problem. Just means I've got to wire both sides in manually.
