Hi there.....welcome to Malaysia.

Which part will you be transferring to? An S15 year 99 unregistered would cost aproximately RM130k. You can search for the prices at www.motortrader.com.my

Gunner :
I fixed the misfiring but I still find the car a big sluggish. Maybe I am just not meant to drive turbo cars...ahaha....but definately improvements. I guess the O2 sensor was making the low throttle wierd. Plan to fit an Emanage to touch the fueling a bit.

DNS15 :
Ampang is quite a jam area as it is in the heart of the capital. Your mornings will not be the same again. Hehe. You might want to check this (http://www.autoworld.com.my/aw/resources/duty.htm) for the import duties on motor vehicle into Malaysia. The tax is insanely high and you might find it not worth the hassle. Also all cars that get imported requires an AP and these AP are a controlled thing by the goverment. There is a discussion currently going on in the local, msian drift forum about this. Some guy is coming over from Holland and wants to bring his 180SX over.

Cars may be expensive here but everything else is cheaper, thats if you are earning in foreign currency. Petrol is slight less than RM2 (USD0.58) per litre. :)

Fuel quality is not an issue here. Ron 97 & 95.

dns15,

Registration is the least of your worry. The dealers will take care of it. Finding a good car needs some effort though. Check the details on touched-up dents and knocks, rusty under-carriage, cross check serial no. to determine the actual year manufactured and the mileage. Many used car mileage are doctored over here.

No idea about that. I would have thought all commonwealth countries need not.

Yes I know of a couple of garages specialised in Wankel tuning & repairs in KL.

I'm now officially moving to Malaysia! That is insanely cheap! In the United Kingdom we pay more than USD $2.00 for petrol. Must be around RM7.5-8  :wack:

Unfortunately, the days of subsidised station fuel in the country will come to an end beginning this April - including Sabah & Sarawak. There has been talks about floating fuel prices to be on level with Thailand and Singapore to circumvent fuel smuggling and easing Government's financial burden to the tune of RM40 Billion. Like the saying goes, "All good things will come to an end"...
