Sorry no help here but Im joining in to find out whats recommended; from personal experience all outdoor covers seem to end up scratching paintwork (either from it getting blown about by the wind or when removing) so I would like to find out about one that is secure and doesn't wreck bodywork :) (Im thinking nice thick fleece one side and a super weather proof material on the other haha ;) !)

Cheers mate... I've been looking around and been in touch with the below place. They can custom make a cover for the S15, I could see if I can arrange a group buy, but don't think many of us keep the S15 out on the drives, unlike me...

No I suspect most are in nice cosy garages, as mine would be if the people we put an offer on their house hadnt gone behind our backs and sold it to someone else :'( But thats another story lol ... for now I only have a car port and currently the M3 takes priority (apparently!) haha so I would be interested, but it would have to be really good, I am literally paranoid about surface scratches as I bought an expensive one for my old Jag and it need the paint mopping after winter with all the slight surface scratches that appeared, so cost me additional money and the car probably would have been better off just braving the snow etc!!

I've got a cover now and its light weight but does the job, never had any paint issues with it. Probably the amount of wax on my car protects is, as I'm always cleaning it (white wheels are a bugger to keep clean).

I'll keep doing some research and if nothing convinces me I'll stick with the one I already have.

I hated moving house, its a right pain in the ass!

My poor car was well waxed too, maybe I was unlucky :( Yeh let me know what you find and sorry for spamming your post haha! Oh and I hate moving house too, but this would have been worth it, there space to build a double garage/workshop so I was pretty furious when they sold it someone else who then went and knocked down the current single garage!!(It was at the bottom of my current street so I could see it which kinda made it worse haha!)

I always thought leaving a car under a cover for a period of time outside was a bad idea. My brother in law left his BMW under a cover for the winter, when they removed it the following spring the paint was moisture damage on the roof, spoiler and bonnet.

Put me right off putting mine under a cover.

My dad had an old Porsche 911 that stayed under a cover for 6 months, should have seen the scratches after he lifted it off! :|

Does everyone take their s15's off the road for winter?

Yeah already tried 800bhp, shame he can't get anymore in :(

I've always taken mine off the road for winter, can't really have any fun in when the ice comes. Plus all the salt they put down on the roads will just eat away at the body work.

Not sure if its worth spending £250+ on a proper cover, or just stick with my current one (which was only 50quid)..

Hahaha ;) Well the marketing worked well, you did at least remember the company name, even if you didn't get to touch them (the covers!!)
