All this info is about on the forum, but briefly:

The S15 was only sold in Japan, Australia and New Zealand. It started production in 1999 and finished in 2002, thought it was sold in Oz till 2003.

You are going to find it much easier getting a JDM example than trying to get one from Oz or NZ. The JDMs are generally better specced.

The are actually six main JDM models:

Spec R 6 Speed Manual
Spec R 4 Speed Auto
Spec S 5 Speed Manual
Spec S 4 Speed Auto
Autech 6 Speed Manual
Varietta 5 Speed Manual (convertible)

The Spec R and S have different package levels too. The most popular being the Aero.

Unless it is already in the UK, only the Spec R 6 Speed and S[ec S 5 Speed can now be imported, unless you want to pay an extra ?3000 to commission an ESVA model report.

Lots of other info is contained in the Useful Threads section

A saving can be made if you are willing to import yourself. But you really need to know the car well, and what's involved with the ESVA if you're going to do this...

The NZ new 200sx is actually a rebadged JDM Silvia specR. The Australian cars are the ones you need to avoid as they're detuned to make 147kw. Mind you, an aftermarket ECU and exhaust / filter will fix that.

ps - you can buy a SpecR manual in NZ for $20,000NZD with approx 80,000k's. It may be cheaper than getting one from Japan given they still love them there.
