what gearbox oil do i use?

I use Royal Purple's synchromax high performance manual transmission fluid.

Yea they sell it on base, I dont think its sold off base though.

Use GL4 liquids for your gearbox. There are certain additives in GL5 oils [sulphur] that eat yellow metals like your copper. brass synchros.

lightweight shock proof is 75W but it will be way better then a normal 80W, just use it and you will find out why, use their heavyweight in the diff while you are at it

thinner - thicker, oil only need to be a certain thickness to suit the environment its in, so obviously a diff needs a thicker oil as the gears are getting far more friction/force then they are in the gear box, which is why LSD oil is heaver or thicker then open diff oil
