    SXOC Photo Shoot

Four guys from the SW region of the SXOC (which I'm rep for) were invited along for a studio session to build up the photographer's portfolio. He's branching out into car photography...

    Here's the results of mine.

The other guys' photos are here (click on SXOC).

The shots may have been 'tidied-up' a bit, but not heavily. The cars did actually look that good in the studio and the photos are a fairly true representation. Get the right lighting conditions and angles and its amazing the difference it makes. To give you an idea, they spent an hour and a half setting-up and taking those six shots of my car...

    A comment from the photographer

the only work i do in photoshop is to fix problems caused by the state of the floor, stands/tripod reflecting in body panels/bumpers, and the limited dynamic range of the camera (boring stuff about tone rendition). the cars look like that in the pics because... that's how they look! a combination of well prepped cars and admittedly flattering lighting - a harsher light would show up more flaws and look more like reality - plus the pic's on t'internet are tiny and use less colours. the reason it took so long is that i'm still learning... last week we came up with some techy camera stuff that'll save lots of editting time :-) oh and we're going to get a set of go-jaks, that will make setting up a lot quicker/easier - thanks to christian i think it was who mentioned those.
