Yes, hunting can be caused by BOV especially if you have a stiff valve spring in the BOV or have it adjusted to tight. If its not tuned to venting to the atmosphere then you will have idle, overfueling and fouling plugs O2 sensor and killing your CAT.
As S15 SAM said you will have more response and power (over fuel causes power loss) if you recirculate.
