Hi Guys,

I'm looking for a little help again.
I need to replace an ever degrading alternator on my S15.
After my regular garage couldn't find anything I've tried a local alternator specialist... who have also failed.

Any suggestions on where I can get an alternator from?

Cheers guys

My alternator recently packed up, the only new one I could find was an upgraded one from RHDJapan at £450! In the I just had it removed and rebuilt by a local shop and it comes with a 1 year guarantee, all sorted and now working fine.
That's your best bet.

The RHD is the onyl one I can find too.
That's why I took it to the local specialist to see what they could do.
They tried repairing but couldn't get the parts. Tried other alternatives but couldn't find anything that would fit.
I'm still looking for alternatives!

No it's not unfortunately, different ampage (80A for s14, 90A for s15) and different mounting.

I'm using an S14 alternator on mine as it would have gone in with the engine so it seems to make no difference re the ampage. I'll have a look at the mounting brackets as I have both an S14 and S15 SR atm plus both alternators :D

The current rating isn't too important unless you have a small battery, like most people do. It's a mitsubishi alternator, any auto electrican should be able to get parts for them.

Did he say what the parts were he couldn't get? I am sure I could source them.

Hi Meddler, I've only just seen your reply.
The car has been with one of my local garages for the best part of 2 weeks now, and syill no fix for the alternator.
They tell me they have tried a few places to get the parts needed (regulator apparently) and even sent the alternator to at least one of them, only to be told that they can't get the parts.

I really need to find a way of resolving this now as this issue is stopping the diagnosis of a couple of other, more serious, issues I have.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

your ****ting me!!! They can't find you a regulator? pm me the numbers and I will get you a price. I need the part number of the alternator and of the regulator. Just to confirm that it is the standard alternator as well.
