ticking/clicking noise at startup

When I turn the key sometimes I get a tappy clicky noise from the front of the car for 1-2 seconds while the engine starts, the picture I imagine in my head from the noise is something catching the rad fan blades. 4-5 taps in the 1-2 seconds.

I hear this noise could mean starter motor problems. Is the S15 Spec R starter the same as any other SR20DET starter or is it different & where is best to get one, OEM or decent alternative?

How's the condition of your battery...

its about a month old.

The S15 starter motor is smaller than the S13/S14..I don't think the bolts to the bell housing will line up
