Starting problems.

Hello,

My second type S turned up a few days a go and i cannot get it started.
It would appear to have a Trust eManage piggy back ecu with some of the wires having been cut.
It was running before it got put on the boat and i cannot for the life me understand why it isn't now.
Would it be worth (painstakingly) reconnecting all of these wires and trying again or (as it's a type s) have these been cut as not required?

It turns over fine, the fuel pump primes and nothing happens.

Any ideas would be welcome.

Quick update; I am hoping to reconnect the cut wires tomorrow as the ecu isn't powering up so that's probably a fairly good place to start.

if its turning over.. have you checked your main harness connector for the coilpacks is connected/hasnt melted (mounted on top of the exhaust manifold heat shield, or behind it if its got an aftermarket mani fitted)

could the timing have got knocked out? again, this would cause your problem.
or a potential simple fix.. have you cleaned your air flow meter sensor element? if thats not reading any/little air, then you wont get enough petrol to start it..

if it started once, then i wouldnt think it would be them ecu wires.
-edit: just read your ecu wasnt powering up.. check your fuses/connections? :)
