Hi Craig - I'm not sure if my PM got through to you as I wasn't catching it in Sent Items.
Can you please let me know whether you got it?
It was about payment options and shipping to Aus.

I'm in no rush, just wanted to make sure I'd followed through :)

Cheers,
Martin

Thanks Craig - full payment sent via Paypal!

(I know I said this via PM, but I'd say many would agree with me) thank you for putting this together - this thread shows your journey to hell and back but you're making plenty of people happy.

Cheers,
Martin

Sorry Marcus, I've just PM'd you back too with the shipping quote to Finland :)

Thanks Martin :) It has been an absolute ballache but I'm just glad they have finally come together. I thought I was going to have to pull the plug at one point but we are looking good now. The worst bit is how long it takes to make them!

There are 3 holes across the front, not 4. Don't know why I said 4 before but there are 3 anyway which line up perfectly with the standard bumper mounting points. There are a few other holes on the back which seem pretty useless to me, so some of you guys may wish to have them uncut too.

General picture showing all mounting holes

From left to right along slam panel..

First hole coincides with a threaded hole in slam panel
Second hole for rad support
Third hole for stud coming from slam panel

Next 2 holes are for the OEM air duct. Most people will have binned the duct and it will not fit with an aftermarket rad.

Next 4 holes are for rad support, carbon canister and bonnet stay. These are studs so unless you are going to grind them off you will need the holes.

Other holes in the panel..

Bonnet latches, front bumper mounts, bonnet stay catches, rubber stops, wiring loom clips, Front bumper mounts (x3)

If you don't want the holes cutting this is what you will be left with. It is embossed so easy to flat/polish off.

Heres a pic showing the progression of the panels.. (From right to left)

Started with the original panel on the right. This was taken to have a mould made from (several times)! The moulds were crap so i went to a different place and we took a plug from the crap mould, strengthened it a lot and made a new solid mould. The next panel is the first one to come from the mould, trimmed etc. the next panel shows how they come out of the mould. Sounds simple but it's taken months of trial and error to get it right!

From left to right..

Our first panel, trimmed and painted
The original GD panel (fooked)
Our untrimmed and unpainted panel

Looking good.
I plan on taking mine back to a matte finish (hence the fibreglass order over CF) to make it feel a bit OEM ;)

TurboAl - No bonnet latch or front 3 holes
Toby - No Front 3 holes

Any one from Australia:

Craig and I have been discussing the feasability of getting some cooling panels sent over to Aus. If you are interested but have been put off by the shipping costs, we are trying to sort that out so it is much cheaper. I am starting a new thread to gauge interest.

Here is the link to the Australian GB

http://forum.s15oc.com/showthread.php?7599-AUS-ONLY-Garage-Defend-Replicas-group-buy

I went over to see the next few panels today and they have been busy! They've made another carbon panel, 2 fiberglass ones and a carbon kevlar one :) They need trimming but should be ready by Friday so I'll pick them up after work and get them sent out on Tuesday all being well. I'm going to PM everyone before sending to confirm address detials are still correct so please check your PM's often.

:D

You can still join mate. The GB will remain open until everyone on the list has got their panel. The prices are on post #1 :)
