Update...
The meet has now been organised for the 10th July, Banzai and Jap Performance are both interested in doing a feature :thumbs:

Right guys, a few of us have been talking about arranging an s15oc meet for the summer. We would like it to be as BIG as possible, with as many S15's as possible! :thumbs:
I thought I would start organising it now as I know summer can be dificult with people going on holiday ect. I would also like to get good / fair location as people will be coming from all over England and hopefully Ireland, so once we have a list of who would be interested and their locations we could figure out some where in the middle :)
Lets start with the date and a list of names, what month do you guys think? I reckon early summer before the kids go back... say late May?

It would be great if we could do something maybe in the evening as well as if its a fair journey id probably get a Travelodge or something and stay overnight, make a weekend away of it :)

RR sounds like a good idea, nice way of breaking up the day. even if poeple dont want to or cant afford to run its still interesting to see what everyones cars are doing and shows examples of mods working.

Right here is a rough map of where we all are so far, obviously its not 100% accurate but gives us the idea! The red star is as close to the middle as I could get by looks! The nearest big town to that red star seems to be Oxford.
How does that sound to everyone? Maybe we could go a bit further north?

Whens this planned for? I'll be in Kenya from the end of March until start of May. We need to do a poll for the dates, probably the easiest and fairest way to decide one. Needs a 'I dont mind' category too though!

Im 26 with no point and its cost me under £600 including business use - with sky insurance, cheapest by far for me as most wouldnt even quote me as its my first 'high powered car'

Yeah should be free unless it clashes with JDM Allstars @ Wembley which will be late July IIRC :)
England could be in the quarter finals of the world cup on the 2nd or 3rd, and I know I'm dreaming but the final will be on the 11th! you never know ;)
Think I have other trips booked in July, so don't pick a date round me, just go with whatever and I'll do my best to make it..

Thanks for getting in touch. I'll certainly do what I can to try and be there in person but July is a busy old month in many ways. You haven't mentioned a date yet but what will definitely swing it so that I can compile a decent sized feature for the magazine is if the rolling road day can be held on a weekday. That way I can 99% guarantee to be there.

same here mate, needs a damn good service after a year of little use, uprated engine mounts i'd like to fit by then amongst other things.....you had it mapped up yet?

No I believe it is a Dastek 2/4wd Rolling Road, take a look at their website and see what you think.
The only thing is we are quite restricted as to where we can go because there are only 2 or 3 rolling roads in Oxford! :(

Same here, I wasnt going to say anything though!
After taking my car to Weston Performance and seeing their dyno setup, I can see why 2 dyno's are by no means the same.
Edit: That may sound a bit wrong ^^. I'd still be up for the RR Tom as we can compare results etc, and its something to do :)

Nothing to major, I want to get my matching rear brakes fitted along with some engine mods to finish up stage 1 and some more gauges.
No not yet Dean, yeah I know it's taking an age to get there but I'll get there soon I hope.
Just a case of deciding what I want and doing it now really more than anything else.
I have used many RR's and in my experience the Dastek setup is alot better than the DD setup. Speaking to several guys who are highly experienced in the field of dynos also rate the dastek over the DD.
Its always good to try a different RR anyway so you can compare the results from your last run. Alot of it has to do with the operator anyway and what settings he is running. You could have the best RR in the world but if it has been setup wrong then you could get all sorts of figures.lol
Looks like im out workin the 10th if the shift patterns I have are rite:(

Eventhough I work near Oxford I've never actually been into the town! When I get back I'll have a drive round to see what its like and where looks good. As you say, TurboAl will probably have a good idea already.
We could maybe do with a pub for lunch and then onto the RR if theres enough interest? Avoiding speed bumps if possible!! :)

lol don't worry about the Banzai photographer not being there - I'll make sure I get some decent pro standard pics and we can submit them.
If someone's got the time, can they contact Total Nissan... it's not really sold at every newsagent yet but still worth getting a feature for S15OC. They tend to ask people to submit their own photography work so if you say LuPix Photography will be there and he's a professional automotive photographer then I'm certain they'll want to feature a proper article etc :)
I don't think you'll even get a response from Jap Performance... they only reply to Scoob/Evo owners with 'yeah mental 700 bhp, flashing lights, stupid holes cut in bumpers' or you have to be one of their regular advertisers ;)
i'm sure your pics will be even more complimentary to the s15 than they could of got it anyway. total nissan is a quality mag, but i've only ever got one copy of it and i cant remember where i got that from lol. definitely making it a goal to get sorted and re-mapped for this now, just gotta see if theres a spare 500 quid knocking around lol

Yeah the only time I ever got Total Nissan was from W.H.Smith's at Birmingham airport IIRC lol :wack: They did sell issues at local store but then stopped after couple months :( The only 'Total' mag sold here is stupid 'Total Impreza'...?! I mean FFS Jap Performance is pretty much a 'Total Impreza' magazine so why have even more of the stuff grrrrr!!!!!

he custom chip/mapped it before we had the FMIC & boost controller
Jez told us to go back to see him once it was all fitted so he could make sure alls ok,

myself and a few of the lads on SXOC ireland have booked in for the SXOC weekender Prescott Hill on the 9th - 11th july...
there be tonnes of sbodies there and we will be bringing are car over too.

Its a long way for me this, so if I do make it, reckon I'll stay the night in a hotel nearby. So if anyone else fancys it, we could have a few little drinks in the evening :)

I went for a drive tonight but didnt really find much. All I'd say is I think we should avoid the actual town as much as possible as it doesn't seem very car-friendly. I did find a nice little pub an the way home which is about 4 miles south Oxford. It's got a decent car park too with no speed bumps, but I'm sure we can find better :) I'll have a browse of google maps and another proper look next week.
craig which pub did you find, a pub which i'd highly recommend is The Kings Arms at sandford on thames, vry nice indeed, second that the victoria arms marston on the river cherwell. If you like i'm happy to go for a drive around with you as i know oxford rather well and can possible show you some places that could be of interest.

One think we should think about too is the location of the Rolling Road - OX7 6BQ (http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?hl=en&q=OX7%206BQ&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=vl). It's in Shipton Under Wychwood, so about 40mins north west of Oxford. It may be worth us taking a trip over that way too next week if your up for it? :)

cockadoo couple of miles down the road from myself, yep nice in there however i would say it is more of a restuarant than a pub to gather at, Just had a look at the location of the rolling road, I believe thats on the edge of the cotswolds, so no doubt there will be some nice pubs out that way:nod:

Well, me and Al found a couple of pubs but theres not much out there TBH, especially that would accommodate 20 low S15's in their car park! Saying that, we did find a couple but I'll have to look on google maps to find them again!
Think I'm going to the sxoc weekender now that's on the same weekend, but I think its pretty close so will still pop over and meet up.

The other week one evening myself and craig went for a drive around and about the area of the rolling road to find a location/pub to meet at. after getting slightly lost due to my poor navigational skill we found a few pubs but decided they were unsuitable due to lack of parking space. After a period of time we had to put a hold to the search as craig's fuel level became critical and we had to turn our attention to find the nearest petrol station (inparticular one that sold high octane fuel), it was a close call but we managed to find one in witney just in the knick of time. Then the rain came down and got dark so we gave up our search.
We did come back with a few places of interest and have a much better idea of the area now,
craig do you think it worth meeting up and taking another drive early next week it this is possible with yourself?
I can't wait to meet everyone and hope that all can still make it. I will unfortunatly only be free until 4 that day so i appoligise about this:(
i'm still definitely up for this and have the day free - but, i wont be going on the rollers. it just seems pointless with a new map and dyno session on the cards soon.......

Only had mine done about 4 weeks ago at Hayes.
The cost is £30 and we need a minimum of 10 cars for the rolling road to happen. I have had an email back from the RR company confirming everything is still ok but they want to know numbers. can we have a list of people who are deffinately going on the rollers...

Can i confirm that after the RR we will all try and find somewhere to go for food, tyre kick etc, its a long way for many of us so really need to make a day of it to be worthwhile.
Also i cant find any hotels nearby that arent fully booked up. Nearest available seem to be in Swindon unless i hunt for a B&B. Cant decide if i should make a weekend of it away from home ?? :)

Well we need to know about the RR as there aren't enough people wanting to do it at the moment. If we had that confirmed it would be much easier to plan the day out in advance.
I reckon (if it happens) We'd be at the RR from 10.00-2.00, then Pub from 2.00-5.00, then some photos etc from then onwards.
On a side note, is everyone bringing mates/gf's with them?
I'll get there when I can, as I'll be hung over probably. I have sat nav so I should be able to find you.
I will be bring my little lad with me (7yr old) :)
Recon I should get there around 10 def aimming for that time anyway (you can never tell with the bloody M25!)

Just been browsing google earth, Which surgest that the RR (BTEC racing) is right next to that little petrol station in shipton under wychwood, do you remember the one craig? the one we went back to and as we did they'd closed. What time do we need to be at the RR? just wondered if its worth everyone meeting at the little chef (ox2 8jz) on the peartree roundabout just off the A34 junction as this will be the way people will be coming from, then a convoy out to the RR what do you reckon? Would save people getting lost on the way to the RR. Also there is a holiday inn on the peartree roundabout for anyone requiring a hotel room. however if your wanting to check out the city of oxford i would surgest booking a hotel closer to the city centre.
I'll probably meet you all at the RR, as I'll be coming down the A3400 / A361 through Chipping Norton.
Should be able to get there for 10, I've only got about 20 miles to travel :)

one thing my missus said was how nice everyone seemed compared to other clubs, i think so too :)

Would be great to get something like this organised a couple of times a year if it was possible.
Being closer to Essex would be good, but not too close as its nice to have a long drive every so often.

I think the guy who owned the dyno was not sure how to strap the back down because of the under tray, so decided he did not want to run it.
Very sensible if you ask me :nod:
Had a fantastic day yesterday, really injoyed meeting you guys and putting names to faces. Sorry had to shoot off early would have liked to stay longer. We couldn't of asked for any better a weather. Like craig i was also dissappointed the we didn't get to see and hear the gtr on the rollers.

Yeah shame GTR couldn't run. I've been told since they're hand built the factory sends them out as '480 bhp' or thereabouts but Knight-Racer dyno'd theirs at around 520 bhp and that's without any performance mods lol?! :wack:

Yeah, couldn't run my GT-R on the dyno as the carbon fibre undertray made it tricky to strap down. Would of been nice to know what kind of torque an hp I have, but never mind.
